Frequently Asked Questions about Program Book Advertising
Where should I go to ask for ad sponsorship?
The best thing to do is to talk to the owners/managers of businesses that you frequent. For example, the beauty parlor, nail salon, a gym, dance studio, local boutique, hobby stores, your church, etc.
What information should I take with me when requesting sponsorship?
You may want to have a ?Accomplishments Notebook' (awards, certificates, report cards, etc.). In the notebook/folder, you should include your official acceptance letter from the Ethnic World? Pageants, your bio sheet and a photograph of you wearing your official sash. You should also include a cover letter informing business owners of what you are trying to do and why you would like to have their support.
What should I wear when I ask a business owner for sponsorship?
You should always try to look your best when approaching anyone for sponsorship. We suggest that you wear some type of casual business attire (a nice dress or light suit). You may want to approach this strictly from a business stand point and wear a tailored suit. Wear your official title sash as well, this will help you stand out and may be your deal closure.
